Thanks.

I'm a noob when it comes to metals and their strengths/weaknesses.

How much stronger is brass compared to aluminum? And I need to find someone who would be willing to make this for me. Perhaps I'll hit up iandh. I have no tools to do this kind of thing.

it actually depends on the density of a brass alloy. I would go with stainless steel or hardened aluminum.

Your block probably has stainless steel mounts, some .1875 brass should be plenty strong for mounts..I use 1/4" but I think the .1875 is what fstfrddy uses on the Stingers, I know its quite a bit thinner then the 1/4"..

They have stainless flat bar there to if you would rather make them out of that..

I'd ask fstfrddy about doing it to, he probably has plenty of brass on hand to make you a pair..

Group order ftw!

Also, just to make sure it's clear. This is the part I'm talking about.

thanks gir. i'll do so once i get to making it.

the acrylic ones i've got are also 3/16" or .185". they do a pretty good job but i think it could be better if i used metal ones.

for my blocks, 3/16" is actually still a bit too thick. heheh.

I like to do mine out of 1/4" brass so I can do a little file work on the edges, that and I do really hard mounts I don't want them bending..
