Im not sure if this is the right section, but here goes.
My mate in my clan has water cooling, but he wants to know if he puts 2 radiators in a freezer, will that cool the loop? or will it just screw the system like sticking a whole computer in there. thanks in advance ![]() jack

Nope. Sorry friend, but the compressor in the freezer would shortly die because it is not designed to be turned on for long periods of time (including indefinitely which is what it would take to cool a radiator, or an entire system).
Freezers and computer were never meant to be together.

If I am correct, I believe that it could be done (Ive heard of people sticking their rads in the snow), however, the freezer will not survive as it is only designed to keep the cold in. If you are running a constant source of heat in there, the motor in the freezer will eventualy burn out.
Hope that helps! (I posted at the same time as Om3n, no, freezers and computers will never mix)

the freezer would die, but it would cool the loop...IMO
surly it would be better to attach the radiator to the outside of the house given the winter conditions...??

No, wouldn't work, and neither would putting a computer in a freezer, reasons said above....
However, you could just attach a phase change to your radiator and get the same effect, however the water would likely freeze, and it would make more sense to put it on CPU directly anyway. You could just put it outside, or as I've seen in some pictures here, put the radiator in a cooler full of ice.

Oh dear god, not another one of these threads.
You cannot do it. A refrigerator compressor is designed to run intermittantly so simply maintain a temperature. By putting radiators into the system, you are constantly dumping heat in. This will cause the compressor to run far too much, and it will burn out very, very quickly. Also, you have to account for the condensation inside your rig. Alternatively, putting the radiator outside works fine - but you still have to watch for condensation. Also, for quick overclocking sessions, you can also put the radiator (without the fans) in a bucket of ice water.

you'd burn out the freezer and probably have condensation issues

By just placing your rad. outsdie and not having your MB insulated you are asking for condisation problems..
Just put your entire rig outside. I do and it works great... ![]()
