Default D4 Pump whine.....

So I setup my D4 kit I got from PTS yesterday, I really like it. Link is in my sig. The only problem I have is, the D4 has a annoying whine to it. Is there any way to reduce it?

Did you use the foam when mounting and did you bolt the mounts?
Doing both really helps hush that whine.

if its a high pitched whine, that is actually the mechanical whine of the pump itself. That is what we mean by "noise" and the only way to really stop it is to either wrap acoustic foam around it or hope your ambient noise inside the case is louder.

I have two D5 pumps in my loop and one started to whine so I elft it for a while but when i was cleaning my loop I took that pump apart and looked a lot closer to it and actually found when you take out the turbine thing lol behind that is a little white circle ball and i found that there was some plastic or black gunk really stuck on that. I removed it all and also cleaned in the turbine where the white ball meets and now the pump the so much quiter. Maybe this is an easier fix to your problem. Check it out and see if that's what causing it, or maybe the ball is damaged and that can also be your problem as well.

take it apart and see if its really clean. check the ceramic ball. make sure its smooth like a baby's butt. if it is, then your pump is good and that whine is just yea... you could always try an aftermarket top to see if that makes a difference too.

I always thought the whine in a D4 is because of the electronics. The D5's are quieter because of better electronic components... It doesn't sound like a mechanical whine to me at all. Sounds like a High torque motor with poor circuitry. Put some 3000RPM ultra kaze's in there. You wont hear your pump anymore.
