hey look! packages from mcmaster!

let's see what we got.

this is a a 50' x 4" roll of neoprene with adhesive. this will be for the back plates.

that big round package? that was your 6' piece of brass baby. still want to have a sword fight ultra?

these are the 6-32 and M3 screws for the D-tek brass pro-mounts. the 6-32 are for fitseries3's tops and m3 is for stock tops.

taping and marking off where to cut on my previous slab of brass.

my weapons of choice.

and a small stack of 5 that came out of that slab.

erh.. well 6.. but that 6th one is too small for a CPU bracket, so it's going to be used for Gir's MCW 30+60.

and around... 4ft of the 6 cut into squares.. it's a stack of 23 excluding that puny one.

i'll be finishing up the rest of the brass tonight and start on the V1s and back plates. this will last me for 11x sets of brackets. might have to order another 6 ft of brass and a table saw so i can get more accurate cuts on the brass. means less filing too.

in the end... i ended up with 28 square brackets and 2 short ones. thankfully it worked out perfectly that those short ones will be used for the MCWs.

here are the squares all cut. tomorrow... i'll be making half of them into back plates and the rest into the brackets.

woo! so another update. a busy weekend indeed. didn't have as much time as i thought.. the beginning of school always sucks. but i have to admit i still love the damn thing.

well.. here is an update on gir's MCW-30 plase.. thats how it'll look. it shows off the brass much better and doesn't look wimpy like the originals.

my new weapon. a belt sander. this thing is awesome.i finished smoothing out all the plates in like an hour... which would've taken... me atleast an hour for just one plate... can you imagine 28 plates?

and here are the smoothed out plates. big difference from the previous pictures huh?

going to get some dinner then try to finish up a pro-mount for a client as he seems to be in a bit of a hurry.

I'd do aluminum or some HDPE, save the brass for the tops. I use 3/8" HDPE for mine, but 1/4" would probably be fine to and a lot cheaper.Cheaper to ship to.

Brass and aluminum is fine to if thats what you prefer.

I get my HDPE..McMaster-Carr ..Or.. OnlineMetals.com ..eBay is a good place to find it to.UMHW would make good ones if you can find some cheap.
