Thnx for all the replies guys!
__________________When i did my first loop, i fitted the whole loop in my case, leak tested & blead the whole loop & then i installed my mobo etc. This was extremely difficult & i needed the sneaky hands of my girlfriend to help. I know i did something wrong, because it can't be that difficult. My apogee did'nt come with any back plate, i don't even know if thay had a back plate when they were new. When i installed the apogee i first installed the mounting screws & tightened the bolts on the mobo, but not very tight because i was scared i might damage the mobo. This resulted in the whole srew tunring around when i wanted to mount the block. How should i do it? Can i tighten the screws more so that when i mount the blocok this don't happen. Plz help, i want this to go as smoothly as possible. Thnx for any help!

Hi, again.
![]() You will need the back plate in order for the block to mount properly and securely: Pressure (ample pressure) needs to be applied through the motherboard, not against it. The back plate will provide the surface to secure to secure bolts and provide rigidity. Generally the backplate is installed first. Depending upon the configuration of mounting there ought to be 4 thin bolts protruding upward; the block is fitted to these, slid down snug, and then tightened.

So, the block is not really secure?
Can you wiggle it about? Are you using bolts or screws? What is holding the bolts/screws in place on the backside of the motherboard? Longevity, dependability and peace of mind is why I ask all these questions.

I just saw your Silentium case. I'm jealous! it's really a piece of art! Well done! Did you make the case, or just modded another?
__________________The block is really tightly secured, i can't wiggle/move it even a little bit. My cpu temps don't go above 40 with a 21 ambient. Soz i'm not english, whats the difference between a screw & a bolt? lol. I only used the stuff that came with the block, obviously without the back plate. The mobo were'nt bent at all. I had a apogee & a storm, did'nt have the apogee manuel, so i used the storm's. They did'nt show anything like a back plate, so i did'nt worry about it.

Thanks for the compliment.
Silentium is a scratch-built case; I fabricated all the pieces. As to your question: Screw = sharp and does not have a female counterpart Bolt = flat-ended and has a female counterpart (nut) The former secures into the material, that latter secures through the material. Can you post some pics of the mounting?

It's definitely a bolt. The nut got a closed end, so that you can't over tighten them.
I attached a pic of my build. This was the first ever watercooled system i've made. I know it's a bit rough a round the edges. When i get my rad & gpu block, i'll redo the whole loop. The pump will be turned 180 deg & flipped 90 deg, so that the outlet goes straight up to the rad, & the inlet will go to the left to my gpu. I really want to show you a pic of the mount, but it would take a crap load of time to take the mobo out. just to get a pic of the whole mounting.

You are referring to the "trustworthiness" of the mount?
If you are getting the performance that you expected, and the block is secure then you might be able to wait until you get the rest of your LC gear before you attempt to remedy the issue.
