Default Compact H20 220 leaking bad(almost killed my PC)

Oh my god about an hour and 1/2 ago im online and my PC just shuts down and im like ***.So i restart and i get the same thing .So i pull the side cover off my case and guess what? The Dam cpu cooler/waterblock has sprung two large leakes and now i have water all over my GTX260's and on my sound card and in and under my brand new TX850.So i just about had a conipption.I tore every thing out and let them drip dry and guess what its still working and im writting on that same PC right

Now i know ive always said the H20 220 compact is a decent setup but i have now changed my mind.So any of you running this setup do yourself a favor and get rid of it.Mine ran for 6 months without a problem til tonight..

you are the luckiest man ever lol I can't believe your rig still works... that is amazing. I'll bet waiting while your rig dried was torture.

Wow that seems like a huge leak. That's the reason why I've stayed away from kits thus far. I have a feeling that spending in excess of 500$ and making my own loop stuff was a good idea. I'm not sure if you were just the unlucky one, but I've never thought of kits as being the way to go. Maybe from Petras Tech Shop, but other than that, it has always been a not-the-way-to-go for me, as far as kits go. Good luck in cleaning all your stuff up and getting it back to working

Hate to hear that. I'd let your rig dry out a while before you use it anymore though, make sure its bone dry.

When those first came out a guy here had one do the same thing to him.

They have seemed to be doing decently since then. What do you think caused it to leak? Did it just vibrate open a seam? That would be something to watch and keep tightened up.

I've never really liked them, although they seem to cool decently.

I'm surprised that your system still works

For support, call Swiftech and ask for Michelle (she's part of their tech support).
