Just Fold It.

Ok my X-Fi dreams have been shattered, I just don't think someone wants me to have a decent sound card. I think USPS lost it.....So I thought with my "extra" paypal monies I got for a refund, I could upgrade my radiator to a MCR320. Would this yield some better temps for me? I imagine yes, but would anyone of you do the jump if you were me? If not, I guess I might start looking for another sound card.......

If it's just your CPU on it then you will likely see no change in temps. Your 220 is likely enough to get water down to near-ambient in one pass. Not worth the money. Buy a couple faster fans and make shrouds. You will save some cake and save yourself a drain and fill.

If you have a heavy load on your 220 a switch to a 320 should help. if you just have your CPU in the loop it wont help much.
Martin has rad calcs for the 220 and 320 up in the stickies, those would give you a real good idea of the performance difference.

Thing is that I can get a decent deal for a MCR320 + 3 73cfm fans + 1/2" metal barbs for $50 shipped......and I got $60 in the PayPal....
![]() I tend to fold on both my CPU and GPU. I thought about WCing the GPU, but not on this rad.....

For $50 shipped with fans I'd probably have to get it whether I needed it or not..
.. ...You could always sell the 220 and get some of your money back to.

Well, going from an MCR220 to MCR320 increases you cooling capacity by 50% (fans not withstanding). Whether you'd see improved temps goes back to what others were saying about your current load. If nothing else the price is right and you have increased capacity if you add addtional blocks. I'd go for it.
