Well
__________________Finally got out the tiny broken Domino today. *for those that passed it, I had broken a plastic barb from the end during modding the controls. PART1 PART2* out of boredom, I decided to pull it apart and see what it's made of. not done yet. Dremel's coming out to separate the top and bottom of the waterblock. Might hack off the ends of the radiator, but I'm convinced I can find a use for it yet... Looking at everything... I'm really surprised it kept my 9850BE @ 1.5 volts in check under stress testing. for those of you with domino's that want to upgrade water lines... YOU CAN! all it took was a zippo on the barb, heat it up well, and pull it off. super easy. just make sure you actually clamp on the new line you choose. Everything together. ![]() The use of brittle, plastic barbs on the unit is a bit baffling... the cost of using proper metal fittings would have been minimal in the design phase. but the bean counters will always get their way. ![]() This was my problem part. It's the barb that was attached to the pump.... didn't take much at all to snap it... funny thing is, it broke while trying to ALLEVIATE pressure on the barb. ![]() this is where the broken barb resided ![]() ![]() as you can see. All of the connections are just pressure fittings with double washers. they're all easily removed after taking out the retaining pins. (pictured later) ![]() This is the plug. once removed, one could install a small fill-port by clamping on to the outside of the plug port with 1/2" tubing. ![]() In this image of the radiator, you can plainly see the open ports and the holes for the retaining pins. ![]() the pins ![]() Full view of the *cute* little radiator. lol ![]() I was a little disturbed to see a gummy buildup on the inside edges of the radiator... I can't imagine what this stuff looks like after 2 years of use. ![]() Radiator isn't particularly dense. makes for easy air passage. ![]() Now on the the waterblock It has a nice mirror finish. But when you look closely... you can see it has "cheap junk" written all over it. The retaining bolt for the hold down is just a washer, welded to the top. It's a maintenance-free unit obviously, as there's no way in... dremel will fix that after posting this. ![]() The base is shiny... but it's not very flat, a little lapping wouldnt hurt, but I'd be worried about the effects of removing the flashy chrome... ![]() The barbs are very sturdy on this one. tiny. but sturdy. I was thinking about trying to adapt it to GPU duty, but I think the GPU on a GTX260 is actually alot larger than the base of this unit. ![]() That's all I've got for now. more to come. Thanks for looking -Josh ADDITIONal PROGRESS ON THE WATER PUMP Lost all my text in the transfer. I'll sum it all up. Problems with it. A. Crossed wires from the factory. sloppy B. Outlet is not rounded off at all.. turbulence bad. low flow C. Impeller, while metal and heavy, is brittle. One of my fan blades had a chipped tip. This could cause balance and noise issues. Despite mentioned above, seems a well built unit for what it's supposed to be. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Love tearing into things that are seal. This system gets lots of really good reviews. For its price, it does well. I would pay an extra $10 for metal barbs. Still, nice to see what its really made of.
