Default Need Help Bubble Problem 2 pumps 1 res

I have Two D5 Vario Pumps hooked up to a EK-Multioption RES 150 Rev 2 and they keep pulling bubbles down back into the loop from the top:

Right now im just leak testing and only using distilled water.
how do i fix this? should i upgrade to 250ml res? thanks.

Have you tried bleeding while lowering the pump speeds?

[edit] Also, it seems that your loop configuration is somewhat unconventional (not necessarily is a "bad" thing), but having inlets at the very top of the reservoir leaves little room for the inevitable fluid level drop.

[edit2. lol] You could use the single outlet on the bottom, and use a "Y" splitter to feed the pumps and use the side-by-side inlets at the bottom as the feed to the res.

yup i tired lowering pump speed and it bleeds the bubbles, but when i turn the pump up water level drops a little and the top water splashes and creates bubbles for the pump to suck back up then im back to square one.

I wanted to avoid a "y" i didn't want to add restriction or slow the flow of fluid and then i would have to use another "y" for the loop to empty back in the res.

This happened to me with my Laing pump and res top. The coolant gets sucked down so fast it creates a 'whirlpool' and pulls air into the line. The only way I could stop it was to use the filter included with the reservoir. It stops the coolant from spinning and creating the whirlpool.

You just need some sort of baffle to break up the circular motion of the water.

If you're going to use dark colored coolant then you could get away with a piece of filter foam used in pond pumps - its safe to put in water. Otherwise maybe you could cut yourself a piece of acrylic to simply sit in the res and drill some holes in it to allow water to flow but not spin in the reservoir.

**EDIT

This is the res I have (which sits on top of a laing pump) and you can see how the filter sits in the reservoir. It surprisingly does not affect the flow that much and keeps the whirlpool effect from happening

Then you might have to add some filter foam. The two pumps may just be too strong even with the anti-cyclone.

I surmise that the "Y" splitter would not overly effect the flow rate as the Laing pumps are quite powerful.

I can imagine how much pull there must be at the bottom of the reservoir as I use those reservoirs in conjunction with the Laing pumps as well.

...perhaps a loop re-design?

I am fairly certain that you have considered adding a second EK150? Will both fit? Or, you could use an EK150 and a MicroRes?

...just...

Looks like you need to add a fill port to the top of your res with a little tubing to allow the bubbles to get out of the primary flow of the loop. Would be simple and cheap.
