Anyone know if Swiftech has ever used Aluminum in their newer stuff? What about the radiators with the built in res? when I look in it it looks like Aluminum to me, someone suggested it might be solder left over <_< i dunno
![]() ![]() ![]() my tubes all have a green tint to them now and the green residue was sticky and had a rubbery smell to it. All my fittings are Swiftech, Bitspower, and EKi use 2 of these and 2 bitspower 90deg fittings http://www.jab-tech.com/EK-1-2-Short...4-pr-3983.html

What you see in the tanks is the ends that are bathed in molten solder as part of the manufacturing process. I saw one of the "How It's Made" shows on car radiators one day, really neat how they actually make them. The ends are basically dipped in a big bath of solder so the entire ends of the tubes and the end tank caps get a coating of solder. Then they solder the final cap in place later. Anyhow, I've had a few MCRs, never seen anything aluminum...

martin heres what i got
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...ng/crap002.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...ng/crap003.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...ng/crap004.jpg those pruple dots are just left over drops of the Dye, also the green crap is sticky, like glue, i checked the pump but all that seems fine there, the green crap i THINK might have come from the front rad since the barbs on the front rad had even more of this crap on them and ive seen it there before. I used Feser UV Black Dye and 3 drops of PT Nuke, probably about 50 drops of Feser. my computer does get some light to it from the window, but its not direct.

Hey mon! Howz it going...

I've gone away from using dyes anymore myself, I just use distilled water and a couple of drops of PTnuke and UV tubing. I've had no issues with gunk ever since. Regardless, if you are going to use dye/fluids...I wouldn't mix brands. That seems to be a common theme in alot of gunk related threads. I would only use one dye or fluid, and just adjust your concentration until your happy with the results. Take it easy... Martin

Thanks alot man, I didnt clean the triple rad too well when i bought it used, so I dont know what was used in it, I did use Swiftech Hydrx for about 2 weeks with both rads before I moved to FESER BLACK.
What im gonna do is run the loop with distileld water and 3 drops of PT Nuke for a month, see if anything else comes up and if its all clean then i will add some of the FESER Dye. Do you think maybe the FESER Dye and the Pt Nuke arent supposed to mix together? thats one thing im thinking of investigating with Feser or Petras Tech.
