Hey everyone, I'm new here and I've got a question. I have a water cooled setup with CPU block, NB and GPU going to a Swiftek MCR320 Rad. At the time of installation I didn't expect that much heat so when I custom mounted the rad on top of my case I only put 2 120 fans on. To give you an example of what it looks like its my Rad sitting on top of my case with 2 fans inside the case blowing up through the rad. I'm in So Cal so temps get kind of warm here and lately my water temps have been getting up to ~35C then I turn my fans up and it usually settles around ~33C. As I'm typing right now it's at ~28C but I worry about temps especially when gaming. My CPU seems to idle in the High 30's. Should I drill out the top whole to incorporate another fan and add fans to the top also sucking the air out? I just saw a case mod with 9 fans on my same rad, that seems like a bit of overkill for me but do you think adding 3 fans to the top would lower my temps? Any help is appreciated, sorry if I rambled.

adding one more fan to the rad will help some, cause you only have 2 blowing thru it and it needs 3, and yeah you can do push/pull setup, I am not sure how much itll help though. but id add the last fan if you can to have even air flow thru the whole rad.

Thanks for the advice, I think I will definitely put a 3rd one on, I ran into a space issue and thats the reason I didn't add a third, would putting a third on the top pulling be sufficient. Does anyone have experience adding fans to pull air out, did it make much of a difference?

i dont have any experience with pull only fans, but logic tells me that push would work better than pull, I could be wrong, but think about it. =P

push would work better than pull but do a push/pull if you can that will help or get X38mm fans those have higher static pressure and can push more air through.

Thank you all, seems like it's time to buy more fans. I would ask for recommendations on fans but I saw a few posts and I'll go check them out. I currently have 2 of these (http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/sc12slsy110c.html) 110 CFM Scythes, haven't heard anything bad or good about them on here (yet) but I heard panaflo's were good and ultra kaze. I am all about quiet computing so I hope I can find some good cfm quiet ones. Thanks again!

I have a GTX360 on my cpu, nb, and mosfets. With 3 panaflos on, water sits at 28* in the res. Running completely passive without the fans on, temp goes up to 33* and stays there, even under load. So I don't think the extra fan will help temps too much with the rad mounted outside the case like mine is. There is always airflow in the room, whether it's from a ceiling fan or a window open. The rad is probably giving away 90% of the heat it can already, especially with the low fin count of the MCR320. But the fan certainly wouldn't hurt anything.

So what could the culprit be TopFuel? Do you think I'm just getting a lot of heat generation from my CPU and GPU? Should I consider a 2nd rad?
