Default Project Build: RPM666 WallHangers

***This is in the WC Forum because I consider this home ***

Recently CD built a pair of gorgeous custom wallhangers for me and now I'm slowly getting everything ready for them.

First, horizontal studs have to be placed in between the existing vertical studs to be able to support the weight of each system. This first step started tonight.

**NOTE** I apparently forgot to take a picture of the two section stud I put it - doh - I'll remember to do so tomorrow with the right hand side***

Day 1: Construction Part 1

First hole cut

Drywall tossed in

Covered

Tomorrow's cutting area

Day 2 : Right hand side horizontal stud placement

Definitely not a pro at drywall but I"ll eventually get the hang of it lol.

Day 3/4 Room painting and beginning a quad rad box mini-project.

The wife has put two coats of a nice paint down and the room is looking very nice. I didn't help out too much on the painting since I am somewhat paint retarded. But, I did bring all four rads inside (2x220 and 2x320) and began another small project with them.

I'll have the two 320's facing front and the two 220's facing the left and right side. I only got about 40% done with this mini-project because I was also draining my main rigs loop and cleaning a bunch of parts. My secondary rig's Antec 1200 is all put back together and polished up - it'll go for sale here pretty soon (PM if interested already).

Without further ado - pics pics pics.

The room is a very nice color now thanks to the lil lady

Here's the beginning of my mini project - this whole build is about 5 "mini' projects lol.

This will be a quad rad box that will house both systems cooling rads. The 220's will have push fans with shrouds while the two 320's will have a push/pull setup without shrouds (MCR 320's are one of the few rads that don't really benefit from shrouds).

First a little clean up of the rads was needed...lots of bugs, dirt, Jimmy Hoffa - lots of crap.

Then started a little construction, each 320 will be on top of each other, not stacked one behind the other.

The 220's will be on the left and right of the rad box and I have begun the template for those - would have completed it but my jigsaw blade is dull so I was going to use my dremel...well I can't find my cutting bit and I don't want to make a 3rd/4th trip to the Depot today lol.

My little template...

So I think tonight will be painting and doing a parts layout. Have to clean and prep the room which I can already see taking an easy 2 hours - then try to at least get one coat of paint on the mounting wall. Then while that is drying I'll lay out the parts for the individual builds.

Rig1 is the sig rig - no changes.
Rig2 is an E7400/Intel DX38BT/4GB DDR3/2-3x3870's - CPU/NB/GPUs all under water running through 2 220 rads.

And before painting I'm still debating on whether or not to mount up my king reservoirs. Each res is about 38 1/2 inches tall and holds a lot of water/weight. If I'm going to mount them I have to cut out another 4 small holes and put a small brace into each one then patch it back up - kind of a lot of work but, would completely frame that large window in reservoir action sexiness....

lol yeah the wife's not too happy that I have to rebuild a few things just for my computers

But so far this has cost $18 - I'm sure paint will be another $20 but, compared to my usual shenanigans I'm coming in pretty cheap!
