Maybe so, but seriously, it will probably be negligible. A few C at most.
In my opinion, I'd rather have my CPU cooler than my NB, but having it hit your NB first, then CPU is viable, it would be a mess of tubing though. CPU - NB - GPU would look a lot cleaner.

I agree actually, it is most likely very minor so I will probably do CPU before the NB. It sucks that the Antec 900 isn't very moddable with rads (at least to look decent) otherwise I would have put a 240 rad before the GPU and after the northbridge.

Can any of you recommend a pump that performs just as or close to as quiet as the DB-1 pump but performs significantly better?

I think many of the beefier pumps are loud unless they're on something to dampen the vibration. Except the D4s, those will whine regardless. I'd suggest an MCP355, I don't remember hearing it, when it was on some foam, over my case fans.

How does the MCP355 compare to the MCP655 in terms of noise and performance?

noise isnt really an issue with either pumps, the 355 has a little more pressure, enough to actually get more flow in the majority of loops. also more versatile. the difference isnt big though.

I guess I'll get the MCP355 then. Are you sure it's good enough for my loop and is there there some head room for upgrades like in case I want to do Core i7 and two GTX280s for example.

355 will handle any loop.

Water coming out of your CPU block will probably be 1-2C hotter than when it went in. P45 NB stays at 38-40C on air with 500FSB on a Quad and 8GB of ram, watercooling it is almost pointless but, it will not really add much at all to the loop in terms of heat.

When the water gets to your GPU it will probably be 3C hotter than before it went into your CPU. Completely Negligible.

I find it hard to believe that it doesn't heat up that much. Are you sure those numbers are correct? If the CPU runs very hot the water is cooling it but all that heat will transfer over to the water instead so it doesn't make sense that it would only be a few degrees hotter. I could be wrong I'm just not sure how it makes sense.
