Default Just installed getting not so great temps

Hey I just installed my loop and for some reason the temps don't seem right to me. Now I have never water cooled an i7 before (or used a non-kit for water cooling) and well my temps seem pretty high for stock. Well on with the numbers

Temps via realtemp

Stock Idle (lowest point): 32/28/32/25
Stock Load (highest point): 66/63/65/60

Stock Idle (mean): 36/35/37/33
Stock Load (mean): 63/59/61/58

Do these look right? I have checked the block and I think there are no air bubbles (Hard to check have black tubing) Here is my loop:

Swiftech GTZ i7
Black Ice GTX 240
Swiftech Micro-Res
Danger Den Laing D5 pump
1/2 ID 3/4 OD black tubing

That is definitely high for stock. I would reapply the TIM and try seating again.

These look a little high, but there are some other factors to consider:

1. what type of thermal paste did you use?
2. Did you lap the processor?
3. Do you have HT enabled?
4. did you try reseatting the block?

Again also thanks for the quick response.
1. I used SCYTHE thermal paste and just a dab (I am known for slopping it on)
2. I did not, I am kinda nervous I don't even really like touching it but I did clean off the top pretty well with cue tips and rubbing alcohol.
3. I do yes
4. not yet but as both of you have said it maybe my next step

I am running a very similar setup, same motherboard, block, tubing size, pump w/ vario, but with a Black Ice GTS Stealth 240 with 4 high-speed yate-loons. Using a T-line.

My idle is 37-38 with with just browsing the web, load is 57-57-57-54 after 45 minutes of prime95. Stock speed / voltages / hyperthreading on / turbo on.

Room temp is 71F

Of course I was getting 4-5c higher when using the dot in the middle Arctic Silver 5. ( The AS5 did not spread very well )

I tried both the line in the middle and spreading a thing layer, and both get the same temps which are 4-5c lower than the dot method.

Hope this helps!

You shouldn't be afraid to move the tubes if you have clamps on the barbs. Hell, I bend the tubes of my setup everywhere to get the mobo out, and the tubes didn't get disloged in the slightest bit. To put it in perspective, I bent half my loop 180 degrees. It's ok to move it, and before reseating the heatsink, check the grease underneath to see if the grease spread well the first time.

My advice: Don't drink and watercool unless you're rich and love to upgrade.

Ok update, I reset the heatsink, and reapplied the TIM, same thing infact it seems that it has gotten a little worse. I think I may get some clear/red tubing and ditch my black tubing just to make sure there is good flow. When moving the tubes they seemed pretty light not to sure how much fluid is really reaching the CPU
