Default A reason to only used distlled water

I had to break down my w/c loop today because I fried my mobo the other day. Anyhow, when I broke it down there was blue gunk all in the waterblock. It appears as though the dye somehow separated from the rest of the coolant and got caught up in the cpu waterblock's pins. So i had a fun time cleaning this crud out of my waterblock. Just thought I'd share my opinion that only straight distilled water plus a biocide should be used as coolant because stuff like this can happen. Here are some pictures for your enjoyment!

Yup, no problem. I was using Feser One UV Blue Coolant. As for the mobo, I got a replacement one today compliments of my very gracious g/f.

Good post +rep, we need more awareness like this. Keep the loops fresh with distilled water and stick to color tubing! Everyone sees the initial coolness of UV coolant, but very few see this side. How is the inside of your pump looking? I could imagine some could be trapped in the radiator too.

Straight distilled water, bitspower silver barbs, and a silver kill coil for me. Having the clean the dye out of your blocks every few months isn't worth it!

When I still ran my loop, that's all I used , Straight distilled H2O and a little bit of anti bacterial. Colored tubing > Colored coolant imo.

I wish I had the option of colored tubing rather then UV dyes. I have not ever been able to find UV orange 1/2ID tubing.

Would using a UV dye bomb and distilled water do better than a prepackaged coolant?

Taste it. Does it taste like copper?

Probably just the dye though...
