@unleaded: Thanks for the advice regarding how the loop should go. I'll set it up like that instead.

@like30ninjas: How loud is a 'loud' radiator? I want something with great cooling performance, but I won't mind some noise. Can you compare it to another sound? Decibels don't really explain much to me, haha.

@crc614: If you loop is the one in your profile pic, then yes, pretty much exactly likethat.
Juggalo made some really awesome list of parts

You're welcome mate!!

The "loud radiator" that like30ninjas was talking about is the Black Ice radiators like the GTX360. It is called the loud radiator due to its dense fins which requires high cfm & static air pressure fans= loud. But, it was proven that anything over 61cfm fans on the Black Ice GTX360 will yield the best performance out of most 120x3 radiator. I have the GTX360 and I installed Scythe Ultra Kaze 3000rpm on it. But I dont run my fans at 3000rpm, instead I run them at 1700rpm. Despite running my fans slower, I was still able to overclock my Q9650 up to 4.50ghz with great temps. At 61 cfm, you could get a fan that gives out about 20dBa of noise.

For the Black Ice GTX360, I would recommend to get 38mm thick fans like the Scythe Ultra Kaze and run it at the speed and noise your comforable with. That of course mean the you have to get a fan controller.

Oh, if 61CFM works, than I'm fine. I have a 75CFM fan in the back of my sig rig, and I can easily tolerate the noise. As far as my parts list, I'm thinking these:

CPU Block:
Koolance 350AC

Radiator:
Black Ice GT Xtreme 420, unless that won't fit in the Cosmos 1100, in which case the Black Ice GTX Xtreme 360

Pump:
Swiftech-MCP655-B

Reservoir:
Danger Den 5.25" Bay

Fans:
XIGMATEK 140mm or Panaflo 120mm

You'll have one fan running at 75cfm, which will produce anywhere around 25 to 30 dba. If you add more fans, assuming they run at the same dba level, your sound will increase.

here's a program that will help you determine your total dBA

I'm using 13 fans in my computer, and they're all about 25 dBA each. in total, i sit at 37 dBA, which is acceptable to me. my computer's within earshot and it sounds like one big fan on low-speed.

Alright, with the 200mm Side Fan, 1 Scythe exhaust, 2 Scythe intake, and 3 Panaflo's on top, I'm getting an estimated dB of 45, which according to this chart, is like a quiet office.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

Nice looking loop, That_guy3!

Well, with all the help, I'm confident in my loop, but I just have one last question. Looking at That_guy3's set up, I realized how big the tubing is. Because of this, I was thinking of using a 90 degree fitting going to the reservoir. However, I'm concerned that this might interfere with the flow speed. It'll save space, but I want to know if it will have any negative effects. Thanks!

That's perfect, unleaded. Thanks for all the help, everyone.

EDIT: Every time I think I'm done, new questions pop into my head.

First, I was planning on using 1/2" tubing, because it's big, but I'd like a second opinion on what size to use. I figure that bigger tubing will require more water and a stronger pump. Second, what method do you recommend for securing the tubes? I've seen people use zip ties and clamps, but I've also seen this sort of 'screw-in' kind that locks the tubing in place. That seems simple and visually appealing, and I'd like to know what they are and if they're worth using.

As always, thanks for the help!
