I chose what I thought was a practical option, but it seems I'm in the minority...
__________________I wanted a dual CPU quad-core, and decided to go the liquid cooled route. I bought the Asus Z7S WS motherboard, which I have been told since is a Skulltrail, but I have no idea quite what that is - anyone? Anyway, having got the board and the CPU's, I had hell's own job trying to find waterblocks, and I opted for the EK Supreme Universal, however, Asus don't leave a lot of space, and this was one massive lump of Perspex. There was no way they would fit even with a bit sawn off, so they went back. I then saw the Swiftech Apogee GTZ Extreme, so I got the dimensional plans from them first this time, and they appeared to fit the limited space. However, there wasn't one anywhere to be found in Europe, let alone two, so I bought a pair via Oklahoma, along with the 771 adaptor plates. Not being the most practical of people, it took me a while before I figured that the nice shiny chrome 'X' plate had to come off, to be replaced by a rather grungy old bit of stainless steel. Even then it still didn't fit the Asus board. (I had emailed Asus for support, who replied "The Z7S was never designed with water cooling in mind") - ie: "You're on your own on this one, Sunshine". So I had to resort to grinding a lump off both adaptor plates so they would get around the monstrous Seaburg heatsink. So I am really out on a limb here. Nobody's even heard of my motherboard, no-one I know uses dual CPU's, and on top of that, I have three sets of nuts and bolts from Asus, Swiftech and Thermaltake, and it's all getting to look a bit like a Ford workshop round here. If anyone has done anything remotely like this, any advice would be gratefully received, as I'm beginning to think I've gone and bought a Double Big Mac with a coronary on the side when all I needed was a cheeseburger. I think CyberDruid does in his Skulltrail system.

Are they different? Sorry, haven't ever watercooled myself. Thought the OP was asking whether anyone have watercooled an LGA771 processor

i wasnt speaking to the op. you mentioned skulltrail, which may use 771 processors, but the 775 mounting system. holes spaced at 72x72mm, rather than 38.1x81.28mm
