WaterCooler
|
Well, it is about time to build a new system and I have been trying to catch up on all the new parts that have been released over the last few months...
__________________What I need: Motherboard CPU Case Ram What I have to carry over: Corsair HX1000 CD-DVD RW/BluRay player HDD (F3) Video Card (5870) Now what I am looking at doing is a watercooled setup with the following parts: CPU Block: Apogee XT Radiator: 2x XSPC RX(240 or 360) depends on what will fit Fans: Panaflo's Hoses & misc: Masterkleer hose & metal fittings Reservoir: Looking at the XSPC BayRes Two (http://www.jab-tech.com/Acrylic-Dual...o-pr-4550.html) I would also add the two ddc pumps required. My goal is separate loops for CPU and VGA. Would you guys recommend running the chipset coolers in line with the VGA or CPU loop? I'm thinking VGA, but I don't actually know which would be ideal. So basically, I am looking for any advice on the cooling setup, along with recommendations for a case that can fit 2x 240/360 reservoirs without much modding. I'm not at home so I don't have the space or tools to mod a case anymore. I know it is the water cooled section, but any input on what cpu/mobo/ram combo would also be great as well. Uses for system: Gaming (Borderlands, L4D2, MW2), movies, and the fun of building/discussing/pushing limits of the hardware.

I would run the CPU in a loop all by itself.
Looks like this will be a fun project!

i believe Coolermaster ATCS can fit a 360 and 240 rad without modding, the HAF can fit the same rads with basic modding.
that said, get the armorsuit P80 with a single GTX 480 rad, that could cool the entire system.

I gotta agree with Detroit-you're ready for the i7/x58 upgrade. Swiftech and XSPC has everything you need......Good luck-Chuck
