i've recently purchased and installed the Swiftech Apex kit, comes with the Apogee GTZ, MCP655 pump and the MCR220 radiator with radbox, which im not using (the radbox).
i gotta say though im not happy, something must be wrong. i replaced the TRUE block i had on there, my temps were about 42-45c each core at idle with sig rig and settings, 4ghz @ 1.31v. after installing the water cooling, my core temps so far at idle have been 36, 32, 38 and 42 ... surely water does more than that??? my ThermalTake BigWater had more of an impact than that lol. i know i have an issue with airflow which im trying to sort out, but still. i was hoping for about a 10c drop on each core or something similar. its a decent water cooling system, cost me enough.

Did you keep the fans that came with the rad on there? I would trash em and get some delta's + a fan controller.

Try reseating the water block and make sure the input and output (for the CPU block) aren't switched.

Well, theres your problem. No airflow = bad temps. Use the radbox they gave you and mount the rad to the back of the case.

Air bleed, radiator placement, quality of HS seat, proper application of TIM, and load temps.
__________________Get the info for those things and we can figure something out. EDIT: didn't see the airflow issue. If a radiator doesn't have any airflow, it can't radiate that much heat.

I'd put the rad on the rad-box and get it out in the cooler room ambient air.
Try some re-mounts, I usually do 4 or 5 over a couple of weeks time, then work it back down to the lowest. Really rock your case around to work air out, slap hte side of your rad or shake it if you can to get air out of it. If the standard things don't help this is a good guide..High Temps? A guide to improvement - 5 tests - Martin Hopefully you opened up your blocks and cleaned your rad before you used them, if not you could have crud in it somewhere giving you a partial blockage, if you temp's end up being OK after the standard work around I wouldn't worry about it till next cleaning then break it down and clean it well.

ok well the radiator on the back is really not an option...at the moment i have it installed in the front of my case. i have a TT Armour so the front is pretty much open. the fans are also set up to draw the cool air from the outside in, just as if it were on the back, only its on the front.
the only thing i can think of that could be wrong with the loop setup, is the in/out of the radiator is around the wrong way...but then i didnt think a radiator really had a proper inlet and outlet, its more to do with how you have the loop set up yeah? i changed the fans the radiator came with and put on my CoolerMaster 120mm long life fans, which are pretty good. maybe i need even better ones then. and im gonna go all out and get a 92mm Delta to put on the back and top of the case for exhaust.

ok running temps peaked at 47c, 39c, 48c and 44c or therebouts.
that 39c was for Core 2. since one of the cores is that low, its gotta be simply a block mounting thing yeah? i was told the Apogee GTZ would not need lapping, kinda wish i did now since im not pulling apart my system and flushing out the coolant already. ill try a re-seat. i even went by manufacturer specs and only applied a small thin strip of AS5 to the centre of the CPU chip, so as not to smother in thermal paste.

are those temps full load? If so, I don't see a problem with 4ghz and 50c at full load..
