I wonder what that nasa supercomputer could do if it was composed of like 1,000,000 i7's overclocked along with the same number of 5870's. I may sound like a fool, but by now wouldn't some of the tech used in that computer be dated? I mean look at them using some massive water cooling system, when they could just as easily stick an mcp655 and some heatkillers on there.

I think the reasoning is the amount of hardware they actually have to cool. my rig alone heats up a 25x14 (or something like that) room.

I want one of those and a new mansion and stuff! It would just suck to do a repair if something went bad

I'm sure they would post impressive times if they actually could run it, but I don't think they actually can. Correct me if wrong!
Emulation.

It'd still kill a regular x86 home computer.

I'm calling BS on the whole video. Would they really bother putting a giant waterfall reservoir just for looks on that thing? I doubt it.

Folding@Home is of April 2009 sustaining over 8.1 PFLOPS [15], the first computing project of any kind to cross the four petaFLOPS milestone. This level of performance is primarily enabled by the cumulative effort of a vast array of PlayStation 3, CPU, and powerful GPU units.[16]
