Default Build me a cheap WC system

I was talking to my father the other day and he said he had some extra money, so I decided what the hell, instead of buying an air cooler for my video card, why not build my self a cheapo WC system. I am a total WC noob so would be nice if some one could build me a WC system with a CPU and GPU waterblock, I am on a tight budged and the cheaper the better, my father told me I should buy from http://xoxide.com/ because they have incredible deals, I thught I would use this to start and buy water blocks for the CPU and GPU but I dont know wich ones or what kit to buy, my case is prety small so it would be best if the rad is external.
Thanks,
All help will be apreciated,
dominique120

That little kit is pitiful. I wouldn't count on it to do any better than a TRUE or other air coolers.

Here is what I would go with...

http://xoxide.com/swiftech-mcp655.html - PUMP
http://xoxide.com/swiftech-dual-quiet-radiator.html -RAD
http://xoxide.com/swiftech-apogee-gt-waterblock.html -CPU block
http://xoxide.com/swiftech-mcw60-vga-water-block.html GPU block
http://xoxide.com/swiftech-coolsleeves-625-blue.html - anti kink
http://www.xoxide.com/swiftech-mc14-...-ramsinks.html ramsinks

Pick up a t-fitting, a couple of fans, and 1/2" tubing

You just copy and paste that every time...

And you can water cool the GPUs, you need a Swiftech MCW 60, and GPU RAMsinks.

I would recommend a reservoir, though. It will make filling your loop somewhat less painful, and looks great, as well as reducing bleeding times.

Something like the Swiftech Micro Res is good.

What is your budget? Cheap water cooling is not always a good thing, usually need to spend $250 for a water cooling setup that is really worth it.

I would upgrade your system before going water.

But you don't cater for any other budget, if someone asks a question, you generally just post that. I've even seen that happen on a thread where it wasn't asking about a new loop, just a new block.

And that's all I'll say on the matter.

Nckid4u has a nice setup there, I'd go for that.

For the people thinking on the question "Why should this dude get a WC kit if his rig is *****?", well I am going to get a Q9550 at the end of the month probably, I might not need any fans because I will use my two 120mm CM R4 fans, and my budjet is probably between $100 and $200
Thanks everyone

if meti doesn't mind i'll copy and paste my little blurb:

i'm not sure if the prices are still the same or if they're still in stock but you should be able to find similar things at other stores.

Here is my list as a reference:

CPU: (Note 7)
Rad:
360240 (Note 1)
Pump (Note 4) + Res: (Note 3)
Option 1:Option 2:
Tubing:
Fans: (Note 6)
Med/High (Loud)Low/Med (Quiet)
Barbs:
Coolant:
  • Distilled water from local supermarket. (Price will vary on your store)

Misc:

Reference 360 Setup: (All totals have 15ft of tubing, 8 barbs, and 3x fans.)
Med/High CFM (Loud)
  • Option 1 - GTX360+pumpres1+Scythes= $313.90
  • Option 2 - GTX360+pumpres2+Scythes= $321.90
Low/Med CFM (Quiet)
  • Option 3 - RX360 +pumpres1+Y-L= $291.95
  • Option 4 - RX360 +pumpres2+Y-L= $299.95
If you are lacking in space, Options 2 and 4 would be best. If you want silence w/o a fan controller, Option 3 and 4 are for you (1 and 2 if you have fan controller). If you have extra space and want a separate res then Options 1 and 3.

Cheapest CPU Only Option:
CPU*: XSPC Delta V3 - $44.95
Pump*: DD Db-1 - $42.95
Rad*: Swiftech 220 Rad - $37.95 - Choose your barbs here. (It will save you $1)
Barbs: 2x Fatboys - Select BP G1/4 1/2" Fittings - $4
T-block*: ˝” Nylon T -$1.35
Tubing: 10ft durelene - $4.50
Fans: 3x Yate Loons - $9.90
Misc: PT-Nuke $2.50

Total: $149.10

NOTES:
  1. If this is for CPU loop only and you have no plans on expanding to GPUs then I would recommend a 240 rad instead.
  2. If you want a 360 rad but you are on a really tight budget then this rad is for you. For fans, I would use the Yate Loons mentioned before.
  3. If you are on a really tight budget, cut out the reservoirs and use a T-line. You'll have to buy a T-fitting in its place though. I would recommend the...
  4. If the D5 or DDC3.2 is too expensive, then a cheaper alternative would be:
  5. You may or may not want to add GPUs to your loop down the road so here are some GPU only block recommendations(If you want fullcover blocks, they are much more expensive and much more specialized.):
  6. If you have a fan controller, then any of the above options are good.
  7. If you are going for i7, then you'll need 1366 adapters:
  8. If you do go with the HeatKiller, it would be best to get a backplate:

Here is a link to how some of the blocks listed have compared to each other:
HESmelaugh's i7 Waterblock Shootout

If an item is out of stock, I would recommend checking some of the other stores:
Sidewinder Computers
Petra's Techshop
Jab-Tech
Performance-PCs
FrozenCPU

I hope this helps.
