Ive heard building your own = way to go. i have a zalman cooler on my 9800pro, think ill stick with that as its really quiet and does what i need. i want to get a CPU and NB water cooling setup. want it to last of course and i also want it to perform well i want to get my p4 to at least 3.6 (geting a new PSU and ram both OCZ). thanks for any help.

Swiftech Storm or Apogee + Maze4 NB and a Hydor L40 with a dual heatercore would be the best performing WC setup for the price.

Well, first off a NB cooler adds no performance gains, its just for looks.

That is the best set up you can get right now and is under 200 dollars.

My load temps are 65 CPU and 58 NB, im told abit readings are high though. but with my prescott the temps are much higher (specially on the NB) than with my old northwood. so i do think the NB would be necessary when i increase voltage. i could try it without one but i doubt i wont need it. thanks for the tips guys!

You wont need it, I run at 52c on the NB, honestly what REALLY makes your NB hot is the heat put out from the CPU and other peripherals, so when you reduce the heat from the CPU, youll reduce the heat of the NB, so chances are youll go from 58 to about 52-48.

alright that sure makes it easier, my impression was since im pumping and cooling water i would use it for whatever i could. When i go water cooling, i do want to overclock but i also want the noise reduction, right now my case is so loud i cant stand it, its hard to hear music, talk on the phone etc. It will be ok if i dont have ANY case fans right? im planing on having my zalman cooler on my 9800 (which is a beast) and then WC on my CPU. i dont want any other fans running in the case is that normal or stupid?

cmon dude....chipset waterblock DOES make a significant difference. Especially with the P4 he has, same family as mine and i've noticed the 800MHZ prescott northbridge's tend to be alot hotter than many other cpu familys. The only guy i now who has a cool one has his case sitting in front of his air con. His room idles at 16 degrees celcius.
