i doubt that was corrosion - if anything it was just tarnish from skin oils getting on the bare copper surface - you shouldn't have to worry about corrosion at all if you don't run a loop with mixed metals

I used regular distiled water. That was it. I thought i got all the water out but i missed some.

Can you see the brown marks in the middle of the block.
Got my eye on them.

2 Maze 4's and one heater core from a 77 Pontiac Bont? Does that classify as mixed metals?

lol! thats not corrosion - thats just tarnish man


with corrosion you'd see either a white or blue/green precipitate form on the surface, because corrosion is a chemical reaction and breaks down the materials into other compounds


but brown marks on copper is just tarnish, so no worries

a heatercore's interior is usually composed of copper and sometimes copper and brass, but that does not qualify as a "true" mixed metals loop, such as Al + Cu
