Default Got my pump today! ... :-(

Well I got my pump today. It is the Swiftech MCP655. I hooked it up to my setup... and... leak. Well I opened the pump up to investigate. I found that there was no o-ring... I called up the makers, and the first guy was a moron, second guy was real nice. He is over-nighting me a new pump (I get to keep the old one as well)! I may go to the hardware store and find a compatable o-ring. Then I can hook up 2 pumps to my system!

Well considering the maximum flow for my apogee block is 3 Gallons per minute, or 180 gallons per hour, I don't think I need 2 pumps with them being rated at 317 GPH. Even with the added resistance from all the parts, I think the pump will be bottlenecked by the block.

I thought if you had 2 of the same pumps running at the same time, you would get 2x the flow header length, but no extra GHP, am I correct?

Well, if it is simliar to circuits (circuits are commonly explained using pumps and water), then you would get 2X the potential (head), and 2X the amps (Flow), and 2X the voltage (Push)... But idk... If you think about it, you would get same GPH, but double the head. Maybe I will test it.

I might sell, or I might just give to my buddy who I have convinced to watercool.

It really depends on how the block was rated. For instance, 3 GPH could have been at the bare minimum or the absolute max flow that they could achieve. I'll take that one off your hands

If you run the pumps in parrallel, you will get about 2x the flow, really it is less, but who cares for exacts. In series, you get 2x the head/pressure, but really it is also a little less.
