yes i am water cooling a venice and a 6600, it will make them faster(except the 6600 its just sucks) but the venice is an excellent overclocker.

Yeah, CLR doesn't even take the waterspots (lime) off my shower door.

The trick would be removing the residue without ruining the radiator.

I'd say muriactic acid, but that might dissolve the radiator.

Have you looked at buying a heater core from Napa, Autotown, etc. I think they are like $20 or so. I don't think that is an area you want to skimp on. You could make a shroud, pick up four fans, and have it done for $35. Looking at doing this myself. Good luck.
