I believe it's a transistor, although I'm not too sure. They are important if you want to have a fully-functioning card, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have put it there if it wasn't absolutely necessary.

Default HDD not recognised--check these things...

It could be the controller (an onboard chip on the mobo) or a data or power cable--or a bad HDD--try recabling the drive--try a different mobo header, try a different power cable, if possible try plugging the HDD into a working PC that is SATA ready.

thx mate,
i just managed to get into windows
it recognizes the hdd but its 6th master and not primary like it used to be lol
windows loads up very slow

ANOTHER PROBLEM:
a weird smell is coming out of my pc
lol
i keep smelling around near the case and it seems like the smell comes out of the PSU. i wouldve thought that the smell comes out of the graphics card, but nope thats not the case.
is this normal?
its a very electric smell.

well, at least the temps went down
the 7800 gtx was at 41 idle now its 31° Celsius idle
hmm... lets see if the loss of that transistor increases the performance in bf2 lool

hahahahahah, this thread is great. Well bud, I'm glad to see you got your PC back up. Nice job there. Next time try not to freak out. If you stay calm and collected in the begining things usaully work out better in the end.

Nice job yet again, hope you enjoy your new watercooling kit.

It's amazing what people will do so their computer isn't down. You couldn't pay me to put that video card in my system. You best hope it doesn't fry everything.
