True. So, using the eXtreme PSU calculator, I found that it did dissipate 165 Watts of heat. Thanks for clearing that up

Also, all the wattage drawn by the cpu is not converted into heat, because it does do "work". If it did we would be cooking toast and eggs and bacon with our cpus instead of highly resisant metals.

Alright...Back on topic. What should I do? The Deluxe lapping kit from Frozencpu is ~10 bucks, is that teh direction I need to take? Or do I need another heatercore?

I've got the 437W TEC and a Seltz L35 through two heatercores, which together measure 8.25 x 14.5 inches. My fan is big (so it'll be quiet) but I can just barely feel the air flowing through the radiator if I put my hand in front of it (the air is flowing "in" from where I put my hand). The water temp hardly EVER goes above room temp. How big is your heatercore and how much air is flowing through?

How high to you plan to take your Vcore? I'd lap your chip. I lapped mine and I'm happy with it. It will get you a few more degrees.

Burn, in xs forum Cather said that the storm block will beat any other block when there is no IHS. When there is an IHS he said that the results will be more random. If you want to lower your temps you should really consider pulling of the IHS.

See, I'd do that, but the risks outweigh the benefits. I would if I had another SD handy, obviously that's not happening. I'm gonna go ahead and lap my block, seeing as how it's the easiest of the three to do, and find out if any improvements have been made. Ideally, a Frozencpu order should be going out by the end of the week.

@ Pinhead- 9.5" x 6"- Should I invest in another heatercore?

@ Snerp- If Crash's chip doesn't crap the bed, I may take it up to 1.7 alongside of him.

With just the computer for heat, I'd think that'd be plenty, at least if you've got plenty of airflow through the radiator and plenty of water flowing through the loop. I originally had a single heatercore (8.25x7 inches) and if I kept plenty of air flowing (it was loud...) it kept my TEC below zero. So I'd theorize that you wouldn't need a bigger radiator. Maybe just more air.

Edit: If more airflow lowers your temps, another radiator would help.

Burn don't buy another dual heatercore, it won't effect your temps, I tried it before with my old settup, the effects were basically nothing. Do you have a big res, it definetly helps keeping the load temps down. I would give that chip 1.7v on water, I would even try it at 1.8v, but that is just me .

Well, I do see temp spikes from time to time- I load around 43-44, and I was just at 40, 5 seconds ago, 42, then 40, you know the deal. Is that a problem? I'm doing both my CPU and GPU, I'm guessing it may make a difference. There is plenty of water in the loop.
