Default Heat Exchangers???

are they worth it? what kind of temp gain would you expect? any experience with these would be appreciated.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Could you be more specific?

Basically, your waterblock and radiator are heat exchangers

Yeah, that was my first thought.

I wonder if he's talking about those ribbed aluminum jobbies that can replace a section of hose? Those were discussed before, and no one was very excited about them.

Default All Show, No Go?

Yep, that's it.

As I recall, three problems:
  1. $25 spent on another radiator would provide a lot more cooling, even if there wasn't a fan on it.
  2. The thing's made of of aluminum, raising the risk of galvanic corrosion.
  3. Any heat actually shed ends up inside your case, where you don't want it.

Am I wrong, again?

Looks neat though

Hope this helps!

lol i really dont think that they would do much, like other people said. the reason for this is that the waterrunning through them really wouldn't be very hot, maybe ambient temps because its only on the cpu for a max of about 5 seconds before its pumped out, thats not enough to get up to say 50C. so basically the heat exchanger would just be warming up the water or doing nothing at all.
