And there's also a problem called galvanic corrosion--where one metal corrodes in place of another--the waterblock could corrode in order to save some hunk of metal in the sewer. Closed loop cooling systems use additives to fight this and other forms of deterioration. Tap water doesn't have them. Quote:
Let's do a little calculation for fun. A typical coolant flow rate is 2 gallons per minute. That works out to 120 gallons an hour, 2880 a day. That would fill a nice sized in-ground swimming pool in five days. ![]()

what about this.
you take a hose and attach it to your water line, run this line to your block take a second hose and attach it further down the main line for the return line. now the water will run up to the block and go back into the tubing just a little warmer. OR put ur pc near your water heater, tap 2 holes into the feed line and ru nthat to ur pc.That'll be easyy. anyone know the average psi of a water system?

Basically you need to have a place to exit water out of the mains to create any type of flow in the water block

If you have a swimming pool just use your cpu as a water heater. Loop it back into your pool. Get a pond pump and run that sucker.
