I'd reckon about -22 to -26c idle.

Is the insulation in the res just to hold the evap off the wall of it it there to insulate a pipe?, there's no need if it's to insulate the pipe there will be no heatloss/gain when it's inside there.

Oh, that spungish type thing is a filter, to filter out all the goobers from flowing into and clogging up my lines and evap.

Ok, I got all my tubing insulated, I will do some more insulation around the connections later, but I know you guys want to see temps today. I used Harvey's TFE paste that is good down to -100, available at most hardware stores (I got mine at an OSH). I also used some pipe tape, because those metal threads are hard on the pastic ones. Next I just have to mix the 5-10% of water wetter with the De-Icer and I am good to go!

ok I just started up my chiller, fired up the A/C. The temps are droping.. Final temps later, but here is some pics now. I am using 7% water wetter and the rest De-Icer.

Note: read bottom readout on my thermy, the top one is room temp.

Updates in about an hour.

Ok, I think I did well, I got -28.5c for my block temp

There was small chunks of ice starting to form in my bay. My solution is only good down to -35c I believe. Though there is still a TON of insulation to do, so -30c should be a breeze. I'll have to post my pix tommrow since I left my floppy disk in my bro's room and he is now asleep.. sorry guys

on a side note, I was quite impressed with my Danner Mag-drive 5, thing didn't crack or leak

if your fluid isn't good past -35 you might want to look at MCT40. it's good to -40, is a bit spendy though. I might have a bottle I could send you for not too much... but I'd like to get my wc all set up and make the final decision about what fluid I run

I might just start adding pure Alky until the ice chunks start going away, which is good down to -90. I'm just supprised this Danner pump hasn't cracked on me yet, I was sure this would be a gonner down at -25c, not bad for a 30 buck pump

LOL, just don't sneeze next to it as I imagine the plastic is rather brittle.
