Update, I cut the hole for the lines between the evap and the compressor, took me a good 30min to do. My wepon of mass distruction was a box cutter. Tommrow I will cut the holes for the inlet and oulet tubes for the waterlines.

The measurements on that is 1 3/4" down and 1" across

Update
to start, I enlarged the hole in my cooler, to accompany the size of my copper lines running from the accumulator to the evap. I used a hack saw on that one, works much faster than using a box cutter. Next, I got the evap and the copper lines as close as possible so I could fit it in the cooler. It eventually worked without any major problems. The evap fit perfectly into the 12 can cooler just as planned. Next, I need to work on drilling the holes for the clearflex tubing for my water loop. Also, I need to buy some Prestone De-Icer which can be a PITA to find where I live. I'll give you some updates on how the drilling goes.

Update: I drilled the holes for the supply and return lines for my loop, I used a 3/4" forstner bit, cut through that stuff like butter, but leaves a nice little mess behind. (stupid static electricity and insulation stuff )

tommrow, I am going to start to insulate my waterblock..

hey man lookin great, i'm still trying to find copper to build my waterblock. where you cut there will be some gaps between the evap lines and the cooler, maybe you could fill that with expandable foam. possibly the fast expanding stuff, this will greatly increase the insulation and you wont lose any heat. BTW what kind of pump are you using because i really need one but i'm not sure what one to get. possibly a link if its on the internet somewhere.

Hi Wowza,

`Been checking your build progress and noticed that you`re using a slim cooler. Looking down inside it, you may not have enough water volume in it to allow your 5100 BTU unit to run long enough between cycles. If it short cycles that will be hard on your compressor. Since you got this far into your build, your best option is to move enough water to maybe offset the above condition. Will your pump move 2 gpm with the restriction of the your water block? Also, try to discharge the warmest water into the bottom of the cooler, and draw the returned cooler water from a level about half way up from the top of the cooler tank. If you have more flow that you need (lol), you can put a balancing valve on the leaving side of the pump. This type of valve restricts flow in such a way so as not to create turbulence in the flow. `Chances are that you won`t need one, and only if your pump delivers way too much flow. Just remember that this unit is a chiller, and not something capable of temps. much below freezing. I wouldn`t run the water temp. below 25 F. You won`t need too concentrated a glycol mix for that, which will be better for heat transfer and easier on your pump. Anything colder that this setup would be comparable with a phase change unit.

This is looking very promising, talk about a very good clean compact design!! Good work mate, you could even build some sort of box to house this set-up in.
I hope this works out very well, good luck mate! Keep up the great work.

I'm getting a Mag 5 pump (build by Danner). I payed 30 shipped for it, used and will do the trick just fine. No worries about the Q's, my thread is open to all Q's people may have on my build

Anyways, moving on. Over the weekend I bought some De-Icer and some Redline water wetter. I was supprised to find that De-Icer in California, but I did. Tommrow, I am going to start to insualte my tubing
