I leave mine on 24/7. My XP actually FREES up memory as it sits. I go to bed with 624MB free and wake up to 720MB free. Just keep your system clean, the "slowdown" just doesn't occur. You think we restart all our 40+ servers here at work everyday? Even week? Nope, not until there is an issue. I use a Via Aqua pump which is designed to be on all the time, most pumps (that we use for WC) are.

Yep, turn her off to save a few bucks on the power bill. Gotta pay enuff on gas already, don't need to throw away more hard earned $$$.

I saw on Brainiac they got a lightbulb to light up with a gerbil running on an excerise wheel wired up to it. I wonder how many gerbils it would take to power a PC? ![]()

Well...im sort of kidding here but if your talking straight power (being in Watts, of course) then maybe as few as 15, assuming you have a gerbil powering a 40W lightbulb. ^.^

Oh, and for my serious post...I've recently purchased a pump for my upcoming WC project, and I bought an A/C pump for the sole purpose of being able to shut down the pc, but leave the pump running. Now, will this idea work, as I was thinking how shutting down gives high temps because all of the fans are off but all the components are still hot. So, would I be able to leave the pump running the loop but have my pc off (I am using an A/C pump guys) and still have everything running smoothly?

i dont see why not. Sounds like a nice idea. Just remember to turn it on when you hit the power button on your comp or im guessing your going to leave it on 24/7
