It'll use more than double the wattage and it will make more noise.
I think the L45 is overkill, go with the L35 (LESS POWER DEMAND, QUIETER AND MORE THAN ENOUGH gph).
Cheaper too.

Be careful with the hydor pumps. If tou want a quiet pump these aren't it. I have the l35 and like others very noisy.

what pump do you recommend that has as much power as L 45??
a little noise is ok as long as it doesnt sound like a hairdryer.

the only thing that sounds like a hair dryer is my 2x120mm 90cfm sunons o_O.

the L35 is quiet when it isnt fookin up like mine :|.

I always compare my L45 to my D5, and I can tell you that the L45, after about 5 months of use, gets really noisy. The D5 has, and is still, near-silent.
