Default 2 or 4 fan for the rad?

Just wondering would it make a difference cooling a rad using 4 fans? or 2 x120mm fan is enough? both fans is on top sucking air in.

This will be inside my case on top did some modification with the case and made my own shroud

I prefer to have only fans on one side and if possible have them in a draw through situation mounted on a shroud. this I find offers the best performance with a better flow through the core than a push through design.

Hi XIE67,

I'm curious about this. Did you happen to take temps for sucking versus blowing (yeah, yeah, yeah. )?

To answer your original question, from what I've heard, it depends on your goals. Two will give you excellent performance, four will will give you even better performance, but far from a 2x improvement. And of course more noise.

I don't like noise, so I'd spend my money elsewhere.

I'd also reverse the airflow, so I was blowing the heat out of the case, and working with convection instead of against it.

I hope this helps!
