I was thinking about the way a BIX III is setup. It has holes for mounting on it, but would a shroud make much difference? I think it could, but I don't have a ton of time anymore so if a shroud isn't going to do much for my temps I'd rather spend my time perfecting my OC

it probably won't do a whole lot, but it would be better to get the fans off the rad even just a little bit because there will be a dead spot in the middle of the fan that doesn't get air.
something easy would be to just put some spacers inbetween the fans and the rad to raise them up just a little bit.

Depending on how far the mounting holes are spaced from the radiator, I'd suggest you just stick with simplicity, you've already got 3 120mm fans cooling it. And a note about shrouds: Shrouds are meant to lift the fans off the core, but also to keep and direct air pressure through the core, which is why you want to keep it as airtight as possible.

To make a shroud...just use discarded or old 120mm fans. Cut the hubs and motors out, and gklue them to the good fans...instant shroud...and shrouds DO help enough for it to be worth it....And...if you are going to put fans on both sides of the radiator, that the fans spin in opposite directions.

I dunno then, because it will help if you raise it up, I'd go to the Home Depot near you and pick up a big sheet of Lexan; it's relatively cheap. Cut out something like this, where the tabs are where you need to bend it to put it onto your BIX.

This one's more efficient, because it spreads airflow throughout the entire radiator, not just on the fan's 120mm diameter.

Yeah...but there is also the risk of not getting your seals wright and losing airflow....
