This was done on the 1300, The 1300's are a cheap alternative, I have been using mine for well over a year and it hasn't skipped a beat. I would not recomend using one for an internal application though. Many people do use them, with a flow rate of 370 GPH and a price around $20 it makes it a good low budget choice.

Did about the same with my pump. Fixed the rotor. Does run silent now but i have to help it start up. So i leave it running fulltime now....
