Niko-Time

Well, Ive decided to take the plunge into watercooling (pun intended ^^). The only problem is I dont have a clue how to do it, what to buy, whether I would need a new case, whether I can still use my big typhoon, how easy it is to do...etc.

I should have £100 to spend on it due to just about to flog a load of things on ebay. May even have to buy a new case for it included in that budget (doubt it though). I also dont know where to buy from for watercooling parts in the UK, I usually use www.overclockers.co.uk, not sure whether they're selection is any good...

Well anyway, let me no what you think, as little or as lot as you can contribute, it would be more than I currently know.

The best thing to do is read peoples logs of there water coolling setup so you can learn from their experiences and mistakes. To find water coolling stores in your area you can check out this page:

Thanks for the links . Anyone want to give me an entire spec of what to do, I dont have a clue whats good/whats not? I may be able to stretch my budget a little bit, but would just have to save for longer

With a tripple rad and appoge block you most like could make it to 3.2.

There is a lot of colors, but clear is the cheapest(that aplys to all parts).

block- appoge

pump-d5 (NOTE: Due to the limited availability of these pumps, sometimes we need to substitute the pump with the Swiftech MCP655 model and vice versa. Both pumps are IDENTICAL and both carry the same warranty and have the same great features.)

rad-black ice

res- flopy bay

tubing- primoflex

add a water additive and clamps and that's all you need for the best cpu water cooling system.

A triple rad has 3 X 120 fan holes and yes there are cheaper, that was the best possable.

With water coolling there are really three ways you can go about it.

You can buy a premade kit by various big named brands (Thermaltake, Swiftec, Cool-Trek, Zalman, Gigabyte, CoolerMaster, Corsair, and many more smaller brand companys)

Or you can pick all your parts seperatley (cpu block, radiator, resoviour, tubing, gpu block, pump). While this method is more difficult and in some cases more expensive you end up with a system that you have hand picked and is perfect for your needs.

The third option is to go out and buy cheaper alternatives to the specialised commercial "water coolling" products. What I mean b this is by buying a heater core (used in cars) instead of a commercial water coolling radiator and by buying a tuperware container and modding it into a resovoir. This method is obviously ALOT cheaper then buying commercialised products but can be a little more risky cause your DIY parts may have a higher chance of springing leaks. Oh and just cause they are home made doesnt neccesarilly mean they are crapper. In MOST cases a DIY water coolling kit kicks a commercial one out of the water!

Thanks, (again), and regarding the third option im guessing this will be quite difficult, but I am liking the option as money is an issue due to getting a weekly income of £12...dam paper round. Are there any guides regarding it?
