I have decided to build a sort of custom water cooling setup. I'm gonna get a heater core and make a shroud with the fans and make a resevoir setup. I just need a good cpu and gpu waterblock and a good pump. Nothing too expensive (wife will hurt me...).
I heard the Swiftech pumps are pretty good. Links appreciated! ![]()

For a pump everyone on this forum will reccomend this:
http://www.dangerdenstore.com/produc...&cat=23&page=1 But if you want to save money have a look at your local pet store or hardware store and look for a fish tank/water feature pump. In most cases they will outperform the "Water Cooling" pumps for a much lower price. The only disadvantage is that it wont run off your powersupply, it will have to plugged into the wall which means youll have to cut a hole in your case for the cord to come out. For a cpu block i recommend: http://www.systemcooling.com/swiftech_apogee-01.html and for gpu im not too sure..

for blocks I'd recommend the swiftech apogee for your cpu and the dd maze 4 for your gpu. I have an apogee on my cpu and a polarflo tt on my gpu and I've been extremely happy w/ my temps. (just got everythign set up yesterday) for a pump, that D5 is a really good pump, but if you want cheap you will probably want a 110v pump. I have a hydor L35 that is a very powerfup pump, but it is a bit too loud for my liking. another good choice would be the via aqua 1300 and then mod it to be quieter.
if you want cheap, I may be able to help you. I traded around to get some stuff and ended up with an extra heater core and shroud, some mct40 non-conductive fluid, and would be willing to part w/ my pump to get somethign quieter. When I first set it up it was extrememly loud, but after tinkering I got it so it's definatly withstandable with my rig sitting right next to me on my desk ![]()

Thanks for the replys. I never thought of a fish tank pump. I would not mind plugging it into wall and the noise would not be a factor.
I'm going to Petsmart and check them out! lol. ![]()
