where to get a new cap for a dd by res - Overclock.net

I have a danger den 5 1/4" single bay res and the plastic cap is worn pretty well. It's hard to unscrew it. I ordered a new cap from frozencpu, but it was too big to fit. So I'm thinking that maybe danger den doesn't use standard sizes? I've looked all over dd's website but can't find a replacement cap anywhere. I've emailed dd, but they haven't gotten back to me yet. I thought I'd post on here to see if anyone knows where I can get a replacement.

Hmm...Go to Home Depot and get a 1/4" NPT Cap, identical to yours.

hmm... I didn't think of that. I have to go there and return some stuff... maybe I'll take a look. not sure if I'll have time though.

Yeah, you can find one in the plumbing section, shouldn't be too hard. Less than 1.50.

National Pipe Thread- It's a tapered design that seals the threads as they go in.

I went to home depot and they had some caps that would have worked, but not exactly what I'm looking for. I emailed Danger Den yesterday and asked them if it was possible to buy one and they replyed saying the would send me one... but...

I have to supply an invoice # or place where I bought it
and a description of the cap (black or grey) and they asked about numbers...?

So, Since I bought it used from Steveo I don't have an invoice #. Where else sells Danger den products so I can get a replacement? And the cap is black, but does anyone know what they mean by numbers?

Hmm....Those numbers down the bottom aren't farmiliar with me, I don't know what those mean....HD didn't have what you wanted? You could always spraypaint something black.

well, they only had metal ones and they would stick up too far so I couldn't use the bay above... and they didn't have anything w/ an O ring so I'd have to tape it each time I removed it.
