Default Possible Addition to Watercooling (56k Beware)

Ok I have some pictures of my current setup below, and after the pictures I will ask me question that I have. Enjoy

Ok, now since you have seen the setup, I was wondering if I could put the waterchiller that I was talking about (Link to waterchiller here) right over my res and have it hanging from the top of the cabinet? You think that would be a good place or do you think it would be too much of a strain for the pump, I plan to just have the chiller sit by itself in its own little loop just to the res and back to the chiller for max effiency.

Cool pics there mate!

If it was me using the chiller I wouldn't have the res in use at all. The chiller would be able to cope with your volume of liquid but I don't think it is really needed. Your pump should be able to cope no worries considering it is coping now.

You should also consider putting a filter in-line as I can imagine how much junk could be in the bottom of your res. I am using a big petrol filter and the flow restriction is very minimal.

Yes... Its a copper bucket around 2-3 gal. Anyways, What do you mean, just let the water fall on a filter and have the intake go through and get to the water so its always "good water." Secondly, I was thinking of making the seprate loop because it would max the efficiency, because all of the water would be at that temp, thus making the strain on the chiller much less, and have it able to do its job much better.

I am aware of that and I plan to put some kind of grid over the top, I think I am going to change my res as well to a larger plastic once once I get the chiller so the temp is a little more stable so it doesn't transfer heat away because it would be colder then ambient. I was thinking of covering the whole bottom of the cabinet with an aluminum sheet, and just putting sides and making it waterproof and having something like a 10-20 gal tank for my res.

Wow... nice job! But you need to replace that bucket, man...
BTW, what's with your mouse, keyboard, and mousepad?? lol, they do not match your rig at all!
oh, won't that copper rust? Not good for your pump, IMO...

Its a good idea to use the chiller just to circulate the water in your res. I would still use your rad, I would put it after everything so it cools your water before it goes into the res. let the chiller do the cooling prior pumping to the cpu. You'll get more flow and pressure to the cpu block as well that way

Yeah, I am going to change the bucket.... what do you guys think of me getting a huge sheet of metal (maybe alumanium) and then cutting a square out in the four corners, and then folding it up, and sealing off the edges, and making a huge res ~15-20 gal, and then have everything hover over it?
