So what actually holds that heatercore in place then?? I mean, you've obviously not got places to mount it with screws etc.

You know when you put in a drive bay there are ridges that hold the drive in place before you put the screws in. Well I managed to sqeeze it in there. There is maybe 0-1/32" of an inch holding it in place. It's a perfect fit, it doesnt move

res > pump in > pump out > rad > cpu > gpu > res once again, its your call, but really, you should be applying max pressure and flow to the cpu block, whereas right now you putting that flow and pressure to the res.

Trust me the water is not "trickling" through. I was watching the flow as the loop was being filled and with the pump on the highest setting and it was moving quite fast coming out of the res.
I'm only going to gain maybe a couple degrees by doing it your way. Also I dont have AS5 on the CPU yet and the AS5 is curing on the GPU

So if its only going to be a couple degrees why are you mentioned AS5 curing? thats only a degree or two, if that. If you want to get down with the numbers, couple degrees from AS5 "curing" and a couple degrees by switching your plumbing around, you could be looking at a 5° difference in a week or so. Thats actually pretty substantial. But hey, to each his own. You've got good temps, so thats what counts right?! Carry on!! Oh, how much fluid did you end up putting in the loop with the res all connected? Its a dual bay res you have correct? I'm looking to get one.

My temps have gone down further because I knocked down the volts...I can run my CPU at the same speed with only 1.45V so I'm now at 30*C idle (w/ Ceramique) and 32*C on the GPU (w/ AS5). I'll have to load them to get the real results but the idling temps are good. I'm guessing my Opty will run a little cooler since you can get good speeds off the stock volts and maybe 1.4V.
I used about a half gallon for the whole loop and the 5.25 Dual Res is filled

The CCB1E Opteron is a hot chip. You will need to keep it under 45°C to get the max speed out of it. This is true with the volts though. On water you can keep it cooler so you don't need the volts to get the clocks up there About ½ a gallon huh? Cool! Thanks!
