When I get my new 7800GS back from RMA (if it works) I am going to make a waterblock for it with the CNC mill I have been using to make a CPU block for Burn, but I have a couple questions. First, how critical is it to watercool the RAM? I know it would be better but since the RAM is on both sides of the card it would be very difficult to cool both sides. I could probably cool the ones on the side with the core fairly easily (even then I would need a sizeable piece of copper) but I wouldn't be able to get the ones on top. Secondly, do you think I would need to watercool that little HSI chip that "translates" the code or does it not get hotter with overclocking? Do you think I could just slap a good ramsink on there and call it good? Thanks for the advice.

i would take into account that the new G71 RAM chips are not even cooled in any way, so I do not think it's that big of an issue.
There are RAM sinks out there for around $15-$20 for the chips, but I'm not planning on putting any on my RAM chips when I go to water. Maybe later but not initially

You're right, the ones on top have that crappy heatspreader so pretty much anything would be better that what it has now. What are the best ramsinks, the Swiftech ones?

Yeah, I have teh swiftech ones and they work great. You need to be careful with the thermal tape, you need to run your graphics card hot before you put the RAMsinks on because the thermal tape won't stick if it's cold. I'll try to come up with some good designs for you, both ones that do the entire area of the card and just the GPU.

Yeah, that too.
RyGuy, I'll get you your designs later today because I have stuff going on the early part of today, I need to get to HD for supplies for the TechSTation.

Seeing as I don't have an Nvidia 7800 series card, can you measure from center to center the mounting holes?

Those don't have holes for the 7800 series, and also, the picture links are broken/dead.
