well, im using the res for looks. and to also have more water in the system. I understand that I am not using my res in the normal way, but I fail to understand why it would make my temps higher. The gpu and t line are feeding the res, and the pump gets a fresh supply of water from the res.

With a watercooling system you want as few "extra" parts as possible. The more parts the less efficient it becomes. You also should double check the amount of thermal paste you put on your blocks.

the blocks should be alright, i put a small amount on the apogge, then smeared it off to fill it in a bit, then put a small amount on the ihs and screwed it on.
