Hey all,
__________________I have read a ton of posts on this forum and others about all the different options for coolants to use in Water Cooling Systems. Got a few questions about mixing my own coolant though: I got the Thermaltake Bigwater SE system and was running with the Coolant that Thermaltake provided. Just upgraded my PC to: Asus P5N32-SLI Deluxe Intel Pentium D 805 Anyway, I am thinking of making my own coolant cause the Thermaltake one looks used and ****ty. How does this sound: 95% Distilled Water (From local gas-station, Canadian Tire) 5% Valvoline Zerex Super Coolant (Possibly some UV Dye) Can i just buy the Zerex Coolant they got @ Canadian Tire or other auto-shops or does it differ from the 4oz and 8oz bottles available online? Also, what are the opinions on adding UV dye to the system? From what i gather, there is no noticable effect on the temperatures... If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.

95/5?
__________________Uh...is it different than from cars? Cause as far as I know cars mix 50/50 with distilled water. Is it just less because the heat factor is so much lower?

Hmmm..well I get that. But why exactly? Better heat transfer? I'm not so hot with coolants (pun intended)

The only reason you add something to the water is to prevent corrosion or you want to change the color. I get the same temps with straight distilled as I do with distilled plus Cosworth. The Cosworth just looks great and prevents corrosion in the system.

In cars you need 50/50 for optimal overheat and freezing . I have a friend who uses Redline waterwetter added to distilled water in his PC. We use it all the time for drag racing drops temps down about 10C in drag cars, you can get it at Canadian Tire or speed shops .

Renegade5399 why do you choose Cosworth Coolant over Zerex or WaterWetter??
