Okay guys, I need your help.
I may/may not be doing VGA waterblocks in the near future, 1-2 months off. I need everyone's help as to what they want, because these blocks are for you guys, the overclockers. Post up designs you like, what you want to see integrated, etc- I want to make something worthwile...I can get very detailed; a CNC mill can shave off a human hair if need be. If you guys want to help out, tell me what you want- Barb placement, orientation, etc- I can do mild to wild. Let me know what you think- I am open to suggestions. Burn

Were you thinking of using the same design for the heat transfer area as you've got on the CPU block? I guess you should see if it actually works well first.

Well, that particular design requires barbs overhead- something that is difficult to do with VGA blocks because you risk hitting cards below it.
Do you guys want full GPU and Memory coverage, or just GPU coverage?

If that design works well you could have the top block flat and drill 2 holes into the bottom (inside) about half way through and then take the block out and flip it so that you are drilling into the side and do the same so it makes an L shape inside of the top block, that way the water would shoot straight at the heat transfer area, like in the CPU block. You would need to make some form of a jig to make sure you are drilling in the right locations after you manually switch the part but that is really easy to do. One problem I see with that is that the block will be pretty tall, and heavy as well.

Yeah, that was the other concern. It's going to be a 2-piece design, no doubt about that. If the CPU design works really well, I may do the same design, but use 2 90 deg. barbs...
Suggestions, people! I need them! I need designs, suggestions, comments!

I'm ok with just GPU. The full mem is too heavy for me. You should do a high flow design kind of like the NV-68, but have it just for the CPU. I liked how the tubing from the CPU was just straight to the block rather then the bend, looks a lot cleaner. Make the base as thin as possible without any chance of it breaking. Maybe do the channels like swiftech has on the apogee and the new GPU card?

RE the NV-68- It would be difficult to do just the GPU and that design without additional support, especially on the ATI blocks with just 2 mounting holes. The stress put on the core from the long reach would be too large. I was thinking of something like this, the things on top are the 90 deg. barbs: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehou...f1af04&ctyp=sm

That looks like the VGA/Chipset block that polarflo makes...take a look at that for some design ideas.

That's about what I was thinking as well. I think I might go play around in AutoCAD and see what I can come up with.
