So I set up my w/c system some weeks ago. I didn't have any additives to put in the loop at the time so I've just been running straight distilled water in the loop.
__________________Orders some Cosworth Liquid coolant. I like it cuz its blue mostly. But also its not an anti-freeze solution, so its not any thicker than water. Well, if you've seen my loop you know I've made a res out of a a gallon apple juice jug. I don't run it with a full gallon of water, more like 3/4, so 3 qts of water. I got the coolant on Tuesday, and added 3.5oz for a 5% mix with distilled water. Temps dropped significantly!!! I mean a full 4°C full load temp!! Before Cosworth: 2.6GHz@1.25v Idle: 30°C Load: 38°C After Cosworth: 2.7GHz@1.25v Idle: 29°C Load: 34°C Very nice stuff!!! I highly recommend it!! My thanks to Renegade5399 for showing off the Cosworth coolant first!!

Got some blue UV dye on the way and some UV cathodes so I will get some pics up after I get that stuff going in it. Quote:
Still need to do a little work on it, I want to seal up the seams and attach, more securely, the seals I made out of a bike inner tube that seal the shroud to the rad. I'll post pics of those details when I get to it also. Stay tuned as well, I'm going to build an enclosure for the rad and pump as well. Then I can get my tubing a little shorter and have it organzed, rather than about my feet at the desk.

How much UV dye did you get? I takes a good amount to get the fluid to glow. Also, make sure you get REAL UV lights. I got some from voyeurmods and they are NOT true UV lights. They don't make the coolant glow. I thought it was the dye, but I put my 4ft UV light (from Spencers) next to the tubes and it glows fine. It's the damned cheap lights. And now that I look at their site, UV is in quotes. So just a heads up there.
