I am building a new computer for the family and I was planning to use my thermaltake v1 for it. I hoped to have a wc set to cut down on the noise.
I wanted to cool the cpu, nb, and hd3870. I have a cm690 which can fit a 2*120 radiator at the top but the fans would be blowing thorough the outer mesh and would be loud. I was think I could mount it on the outside to parallel to the outside panels I looked at this guide: http://forums.extremeoverclocking.co...d.php?t=282232 I was hoping to spend only $250 but I dont want crappy parts. I want to do it right that way I dont have to buy a new part in the future or upgrade large components (the pump mainly). I am open to used products as well. What would be the best setup for that price range. Also note that I am in the US. I dont think I will push my quad much further, maybe 3.6 but the main goal is to cut down on sound. Also, advice on what you would have done differently if you go to redo your wc setup would be appreciated. In the building of this computer I am realizing I should have done some different things. I would like to learn from others mistakes, not my own ![]()

i recommend this cpu block http://www.crazypc.com/products/dtek_fuzion-93071B.html
and this pump http://www.crazypc.com/products/9336.html from there those two main parts are $144 then around $20 for a reservoir, $7-10 on hose i used screw clamps you can get at the hardware for $1 a piece so expect at least $8 for those and then around $40 for the radiator. so expect around $220 if you already have the fans. expect to pay a bit more because of murphys law :-P im not much of an authority on radiators, when i built mine i had to go by dimensions so i didn't do to much homework on them.
