Default WC Shop Site Maintanence and Changes

Hiya guys, just letting you know that i've started doing some work on the site and will continue to do so over the next couple of weeks so if anyone has any suggestions as to how it can be improved please post and let me know so I can look into it.

Some of my planned changes include:
  • Changing / Adding new graphics around the site
  • Adding loads of new products and I mean loads!
  • Juggling the menus around to make it easier to navigate

http://www.watercoolingshop.com/catalog/index.php

Thanks everyone.

An integrated search function would be fantastic.

I got 2 more things. 1 is sort of a question.

1. Will paypal ever be implemented as a payment option?

2. The "Add to Basket" buttons are weird. They look exactly the same for both In stock and Out of stock buttons.

Both buttons look like this:

Maybe adding some green to the buttons that are in stock?

First impression as soon as I saw the page (first time I've visited marcus , lol, Im no WC'er), you need a logo at the top. The name or something, it jsut looks like a generic sales search site (like when you put the wrong address in the URl and it takes you to some host/search site) A nice logo or name would make it look more professional, IMO.

I'll peruse around and see if anything else catches my eye

Edit: Other random thoughts

x2 on the search, that would be nice.

x2 on the buttons, the gray text looks like it's unclickable, maybe change it to blue/green? All of them are like that I noticed, from "add to cart" or "buy now" as well. I just don't like the color. :/

When you click a preview image, can you set it to open in a larger window? It opens in like a 15x150 window (im just guessing size here) about the same size at the preview pic, then you have to manually drag it larger. Can you set it to open larger? Or the same size as the full pic?

Just my .02

Just an observation;
I realize (only by looking at the prices), that you're in the UK!
It's really not readily obvious (You even have .com; not .co.uk)

You may want to accentuate that little fact!
Maybe a FOff huge Union Jack in Your "Newly Designed" Banner!
(For that "first 5 mS impression" - Or for Dummies- whichever!)
(and in Adverts; you really must cater to the lowest denominator)

Us OC'ers in the USA have plenty of choices for W/C e-shopping, but, the list shrinks rapidly for anybody wanting parts within the UK (or even EU)

- So Shout it from the Rooftops-
"Best UK supplier for ALL Your WC needs"- We're Chillin' the Most!-Our Specialty is the Extreme! (or similar)

"Capitalize" on your uniqueness and "leverage" your "market Position" etc.. etc..

Cheers Mate!

Yep Paypal is already an option on the shop, we will add the Paypal logo onto the front page to reflect this, cheers for pointing that one out!

Oki doki, we will look at different buttons tonight to try make things clearer at a quick glance!

We have a .com address on this site as it ships worldwide, not just in the UK.
We do have a seperate dedicated UK site as well though.

Thanks to everyone for dropping in and posting, it's down to you to let us know how we can improve the shopping experience!

PS: I've just re-done the Coolants, Water Blocks and Radiator sections, what do you think?

Okay we've changed the buttons to some nice blue ones!
We've added a Paypal graphic on the Check Out page to show that it is an option, tomorrow i'll edit the front page to show that we accept Paypal as well so it is move obvious.
I've quickly made a Feser banner for the front page, opinions?

Still got a hell of a lot more work to put into it but one step at a time eh?
