I personally prefer pearl as I think flakes is kind of tacky. Holographic overcoat is always awesome!

If it was a car I'd 100% agree with you on that, but as it's a much smaller object and the case doesn't move at 100mph (or at least mine doesn't
) I think the flakes tend to work well because you don't need as much movement around the object to see the effect.Pearls tend to be a much more subtle effect which usually require a lot of light in order to see the full effect, which often isn't the case in an office. Does that make any sense or am I talking gobblejook?

It makes sense... lol. I have a powder coating hookup now as well so i will be experimenting with holographic effects more so. Did you see the holographic stardust on my starry night worklog? It has a gloss black base coat and looks stunning. Might actually look better with a white base coat.

Just had a look at your build and it kinda looks like a powder coated version of Ultranova except yours was a silver holographic flake whereas Ultranova was a Black holopraphic flake... nightmare to photograph aint it!
![]() Looks pretty dam nice though, i've got a V2100 being powder coated satin black w/ bronze flakes and then a TJ07 being done satin black /w blue & purple flakes next week. Do you think the flakes will work okay with at satin surface (as oppose to gloss)? It'll be getting clear coated after so it'll help bring out the shine but i'm just not sure how well it's gonna work.

It is actually silver metallic glitter with blue, red, and green holographic flakes. As far as the contrast with the satin surface, do you mean matte/flat back? If so, then the flakes should look even more intense since only the flakes will be reflecting light. As for how that translates to overall appearances, I really couldn't say.
