Default E-Commerce Cart for Downloadable Content?

Hey guys,

I am trying to add a shopping system to my website that has these options:

1. Primarily used for downloadable content (backgrounds, etc)
2. Accept PayPal as available and only payment option
3. Free to use (or open source)

I am using HostGator and their Fantastico comes with CubeCart, OS Commerce, and Zen Cart. They aren't really cutting it for me.

Do you have any suggestions? I don't mind having to download and upload using an FTP client and then doing my configuration from there.

I heard Zen Shopping Cart is good, I've also bought from a shop that had that, and it seemed good. Don't know if it's free though, but I believe it is.

Make sure you sandpaper the hole, and then put some U rubber over it to avoid sharp edges. Put some grease around the newly drilled hole, and then screw your computer, screw it hard. Maybe install some UV lights and turn em up to indicate that your computer is also excited.

I am on a Linux server, so I do not have asp.net support.

I just spoke with HostGator support and I would need a Windows dedicated server and those run, at its cheapest, 174 bucks a month with HostGator. I am not yet willing to commit that much for a website.

=\ Darn.

Is that for a shared server? That seems extremely high.

I don't think so. They say dedicated.

thats not a bad price, but do you really have the traffic to warrant a dedicated server? Not trying to be a jerk or anything, just trying to save you some $$$.

That's the thing.. I do not want to pay more for my webhosting. I am fine not having my own dedicated server. And no, I do not get that kind of traffic. In the month or so that my site has been up, I have gotten 250 unique visitors and 2500 page views (majority of the views being mine since I check to make sure everything looks good). I do have several peopled who use the RSS feed though, which is nice to know and every time I post a new entry, I get about 10-15 new unique visitors. I just wish I could get more people to see my site but unless I somehow become a power user on Digg or StumbleUpon, I don't see myself generating too many hits, and I don't want to have to use a website like Piqq.us to cheat on getting Diggs/Stumbles..

I do the best I can on SEO, but you can only do so much.
